Anthony Olague 

Owner/Founder 

A young entrepreneur with a life long passion for music. He is the owner and creator of Liberty Music Academy and he works hard to bring the best of the best together to instruct the youth of Collin County. He is a talented musician in his own right. Anthony founded the Liberty Music Academy to spread the love of music and educational benefits for generations to come.

Luis F. Rodriguez

Piano Instructor & Voice Instructor & Our Orchestra Instructor 

Orginally from Guadalajara, Mexico has studied orchestral conducting under Pedro Bocotan, Leonardo Gasparini, Lynn McLain, Dr. Suzanne Pence, Glenn Richter, Carlos Riazuelo and Hector Guzman. He has conducted several orchestras in Mexico, as a guest conductor appearing in various cities throughout the country, conducting Mozart, Mendelssohn, Sibelius, Vivaldo, Mascagni and Beethoven among others. He currently works as the cover conductor for the Plano Symphony Orchestra, as well as working as assistant to Maestro Hector Guzman. In the operatic field, he has conducting the operas Elixir of Love by Gaetano Donizetti, Rigoletto by Verdi, Amahl and the night visitors by G.C. Menotti and Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell. He earned his bachelors degree from the University of Texas at Austin where he majored in voice performance and minored in conducting, continuing his education at Louisiana State University's School of Music where he earned his Master's degree in Orchestral Conducting. In Austin, he conducted works by Stephen Sondheim (Into the Woods) and Dan Studney (Reefer Madness.) As a voice performer, he has sung the roles of Papageno (The Magic Flute), Ramon (La Curandera), King Balthazar (Amahl and the night visitors), Rigoletto (Rigoletto by Verdi), Belcore (Elixir of Love), Warrick (Plump Jack), The Phantom (Phantom of the Opera) among others. He has been heard regularly as a recitalist both in Mexico and throughout the US. Mr. Rodriguez is the founder and director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Texas a non profit Organization that works with young and community musicians to help them fill the gap between college and professional orchestras, he currently serves as cover conductor for Plano Symphony Orchestra as well as Librarian for both Plano and Irving Symphony Orchestras.

Leslie McWhirter

Piano & Voice Instructor 

Leslie McWhirter brings 21 years of teaching experience to our staff. She started teaching elementary music for McKinney ISD in 1998 and has worked as a substitute teacher and Head Start Instructional Aide. In addition, Leslie has taught preschool music, wrote an early childhood music & movement curriculum, and led educator workshops for Region 10 for 3 years. Her most recent position was music teacher at Kent Fine Arts Academy in Carrollton, TX. She is active in worship and arts at her church and enjoys traveling with her husband and 2 teenage boys.

Maci Klawetter

Guitar Instructor

Maci is currently a student at Collin College and a worship leader at Church Eleven32. She has been playing guitar for over 10 years and has been teaching for over 7 years. She loves people and she loves playing guitar. Her primary instruments are acoustic and lead/rhythm electric guitar but she also plays keys and bass for fun. Maci is passionate about what she does, believes in excellence and enjoys having fun. "My goal as a teacher is for each one of my students to walk out of lessons feeling encouraged, excellent, empowered and excited." 

Liz Carrington

Voice Instructor

Liz is currently serving as a worship leader at Church Eleven32. She has been a vocalist for over 14 years,  classic trained at 7 years of age in a music academy similar to Liberty Music Academy. She loves people and enjoys learning to teach others how they to, can achieve the most out of what they're passionate about. Her primary instrument is vocals, but she also plays bass guitar and picked up acoustic guitar. Her goal as a voice teacher is to increase the confidence within her students along with patience and encouragement!


Lauren Moss

Violin Instructor 

Lauren is currently a senior at McKinney Boyd High School, class of 2019! She has been playing both violin and viola since the 2nd grade. She plans to go to Loyola University in New Orleans to study the music industry business this upcoming fall. She has been teaching violin and viola for 3+ years and enjoys all of her students! 

Gabe Delcid

Clarinet Instructor

Gabriel Delcid currently at McKinney Boyd High school, class of 2019! He has been involved in the music world since he was 5 years old starting with piano lessons. He joined Band in the sixth grade (Clarinet) and Orchestra (Cello) in seventh grade. Music has been a huge part of his life so much that he plans on Majoring in music education at UNT starting this fall! He has been a student leader in the marching band as a drum major for 2 years and enjoys being able to teach and mentor all of his peers in the ways of music.

Lauren Flynn

Flute Instructor

Flynn, a current Junior at McKinney Boyd High School. She has an astounding passion for playing the flute. Lauren has been playing since the sixth grade where she has been able to continue her devotion for the art of music and loves to share her growing passion with her students.
